Don Beppino’s is one of Newcastle’s iconic intuitions. Established in September 1973 by the famous local Sicilian artist and cook Guiessepe Riscato. What was once a laundromat, the building which houses Don Beppino’s Trattoria has come to be a ‘must visit’ amongst Newcastle locals and tourists.
In 1993, long time employee Jacqueline Masia took over the business and further expanded the menu to include pastas inspired by the regional recipes of the ‘senoras’ working there.
Working with fresh local produce and Italian oils and condiments the pastas have become as iconic as the building, Jacqueline still making all the sauces as taught to her by the original lady cooks and adding some iconic dishes reflecting her families Sardinian heritage.
You’ll find Jackie and family continuing the tradition of home style Italian cooking 6 days a week. Be sure to say Ciao when you visit.
